‘Significant Progress’ in RTD Talks Reported
Negotiators reported “significant progress” on reaching a new contract Saturday for the RTD’s 3,819 bus drivers after a 26-hour negotiating session that came two days after the drivers voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike.
The current contract between the United Transportation Union and the RTD expires at midnight Thursday. Any job action could come as early as Friday, union officials have said.
No details of the movement in negotiations, which will resume Monday afternoon, were released.
