King World Productions has reached an agreement in principle with Howard Publications to acquire WIVB-TV in Buffalo, N.Y., for $100 million. The acquisition is subject to a definitive agreement and approval by the boards of King World and Howard Publications as well as the Federal Communications Commission. WIVB-TV is the CBS affiliate serving the Buffalo market, the nation’s 38th largest. King World is the leading distributor of first-run television programming, including the “Wheel Of Fortune,” “Jeopardy” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show.”
