Fourstardave, a 21-1 longshot ridden by substitute jockey Daryl Montoya, outran 52-1 shot Hedevar the Gold down the stretch to win the $300,000 St. Paul Derby at Canterbury Downs in Shakopee, Minn.
Tejano, the 1-2 favorite and the only millionaire 2-year-old in horse racing history, finished ninth in the 10-colt race, failing to win for the eighth straight time as a 3-year-old.
