Brothers Win Alamo Child Case
A judge in Santa Ana today awarded two brothers permanent custody of their children, who were allegedly abused while living with their mothers in a “Jonestown-like” religious commune headed by Tony Alamo.
Carey Miller and Robert Miller also were granted a court order barring their wives from coming within 200 yards of their sons. The brothers, both Orange County residents, filed for divorce and sought permanent custody of their children after an investigation by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department found Carey Miller’s son, Justin, 11, allegedly had been beaten to the point of bleeding while living at the Alamo Foundation commune in Saugus.
