The State : Gang Shots at Fair Wound 4

Share

At least four people were wounded in gang-related shootings at a Fourth of July weekend fair at the Riverside County Raceway, authorities said. Three women and a man were taken to Riverside hospitals, but were not believed to be critically wounded, Sgt. Doug Borden said. It was not immediately known whether any of the victims were gang members. The shootings erupted during a fistfight between gang members at the fair grounds about 60 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, Borden said. Tina Bryant, 34, of Riverside was shot once in the lower abdomen by a man who fired several times. Minutes later, one of several people in a gray compact car that sped past the fair’s entrance opened fire on another group, Borden said. Police believe the assailants were involved in the earlier fracas. Veronica Schuster, 19, of Perris was hit in the abdomen and Herbert Todd, 19, of Moreno Valley, and Cynthia Schraet, 40, were both hit once in the leg.
