Takasu Wins by Four in Japan Women’s Golf

TOKYO — Veteran Japanese golfer Aiko Takasu shot a 72 Sunday for a 12-under-par 207 to win the women’s Toyo Suisan Hokkaido tournament by four strokes.
It was the 35-year-old Takasu’s first victory this season and second in her 15-year career. She pocketed $53,800 from the $308,000 purse.
Takasu carded four birdies on the 6,387-yard, par-73 Kosaido Sapporo Country Club course. She led both the first and second rounds and started play Sunday four strokes ahead of Ikuyo Shiotani of Japan.
Shiotani shot a 72 for a 211 and earned $25,400.
Japan’s Nayoko Yoshikawa, last week’s Mizuno Ladies winner, shot a 71 and shared third place with Satoko Sawada at 214. Sawada shot a 70 Sunday.
