4.5 Quake Hits Owens Valley

LONE PINE, Calif. —
A moderate earthquake shook the Owens Valley east of the Sierra Nevada today, but police had no reports of damage or injuries. The earthquake registered 4.5 on the Richter scale at 11:18 a.m. and was centered 10 miles south of Lone Pine, according to readings from the California Institute of Technology Seismology Lab in Pasadena.
