A 43-year-old Escondido woman died Thursday in a head-on collision with a car carrying four people on Bear Valley Parkway just north of Boyle Avenue, police said.
Doris Alma Morell, a bank manager who lived in the 2100 block of East Grand Avenue, died at about 12:30 a.m. at the scene after her northbound car crossed the double line and struck a southbound car driven by 18-year-old Paul Luiz of San Marcos, police said.
Luiz and his three passengers were taken by paramedics to Palomar Memorial Hospital, where Luiz was listed in very critical condition Thursday evening.
