County Men Slain in Compton; Drug Dispute Suspected

COMPTON — Two Orange County men were identified Thursday as the victims of a double slaying that apparently resulted when a drug deal went awry.
Todd Goodson, 24, of Orange and Kevin Craig Garrison, 25, of Buena Park were shot to death about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at 132nd Street and Grandee Avenue, Lt. Percy Perrodin said.
Goodson’s 1976 Oldsmobile was found burned Thursday afternoon near El Segundo Boulevard and Parmalee Avenue, within a few blocks of the murder scene, Perrodin said.
Although police say Orange County youths have recently entered drug-related alliances with black gangs in Compton and South Los Angeles, Perrodin said investigators had no information that the victims, who were white, were gang members.
