Wrestling to Take Hold in Redondo
The Pacific Wrestling Alliance makes its debut tonight at 7:30 with bouts at the Aviation Center in Redondo Beach.
This is the first of five professional wrestling events scheduled in July by the alliance, which is based in the South Bay. Promoter David Ziarnowski of Redondo Beach said he hopes to book 12 events in August. A crowd of 750 to 1,000 is expected for the debut, Ziarnowski said.
Television personality Wally George of KDOC-TV in Anaheim will be master of ceremonies for the main event, a 12-man over-the-top-rope elimination. Six other events are planned, including a “grudge match” between the 6-foot, 11-inch, 425-pound Harlem Warlord and Marco “the Persian Terror” of Iran.
Ringside seats are priced at $10 for adults. General admission costs $7. Children and seniors get in for $5.
