Orlando Canizales unleashed a flurry of punches in the 15th round to stop Kelvin Seabrooks and win the International Boxing Federation bantamweight championship at Atlantic City, N.J.
Canizales, who floored Seabrooks with an overhand right in the first round, decked him with another counter-right in the 15th. After the defending champion rose on the count of four, Canizales landed 15 unanswered punches before referee Rudy Battle stopped the fight at 1:03 of the round.
Canizales, 22, of Laredo, Tex., improved to 20-1-1 with 17 knockouts. Seabrooks, 25, of Charlotte, N.C. is 25-14 with 20 KOs. Each fighter weighed 118 pounds.
