Police arrested 44 people in a drug bust Monday near a junior high school in Southeast San Diego, a Police Department spokeswoman reported.

A three-day undercover investigation led to the arrest of 31 adult and 13 juvenile gang members who were selling PCP-laced marijuana near Memorial Park Junior High School on Logan Avenue. Thirteen vehicles and about $3,000 worth of marijuana were seized, along with a small amount of cash, Police Officer Cathy McKee reported.

Several children of drug buyers were taken to the Hillcrest Receiving Home.

Forty law-enforcement officials from the San Diego Police Department, the U.S. attorney’s office and the San Diego County district attorney’s office were involved in the investigation.
