THE OUTDOORS : Cleghorn Stripers a Bonus
This may be the time of year when largemouth bass fishing is at its peak, but anglers at Lake Silverwood’s Cleghorn Cove have been spicing up their catches with some big striped bass.
That particular area of the San Bernardino County reservoir, according to a spokesperson at the lake, has recently been yielding good catches of both species. Joe Pibtt of Bloomington caught the biggest striper, a 28 1/2 pounder. Pomona resident Bill Hart, fishing the same area, caught a 10 1/2-pound largemouth.
