Fire snaked through a business complex early Wednesday, destroying a popular restaurant and nightclub and threatening a bank and a piano store, firefighters said.
Damage from the 3:30 a.m. blaze is expected to exceed $1 million, said Palm Springs Fire Department spokesman Barry Freet. The cause of the fire was under investigation, he added.
The downtown fire gutted Tony Roma’s A Place for Ribs restaurant and the Balloons nightclub before it was controlled at 6 a.m.
