King’s Swan won the $168,300 Tom Fool Stakes by three-quarters of a length at Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y.
The 8-year-old gelded son of King’s Bishop, ridden by Angel Cordero, came on strong in the stretch to win his first race since the Bold Ruler Stakes at Aqueduct April 22.
Gulch was second, 6 lengths ahead of Abject. Precisionist, ridden by Chris McCarron, was last.
King’s Swan covered the 7 furlongs in 1:22 2/5. He paid $12.80 to win.
