Local News in Brief : Freeway Lanes to Close
- Share via
Westbound Ventura Freeway motorists again will face lane and ramp closings this weekend through the San Fernando Valley, and officials say the work holds the most potential for slowing traffic since an $18.3-million widening project began because lane closures will be extended for the first time to Sunday night.
Crews will close all but the median and the fast lane from 11:30 p.m. tonight until 11 a.m. Saturday from Winnetka to Canoga avenues, said Richard Paul, Caltrans assistant resident engineer.
On Saturday, all but one or two lanes will be closed between Reseda Boulevard and Winnetka Avenue at various times from 9 p.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday.
Lane closings on Sunday night, again from Reseda to Winnetka, will last from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, Caltrans said. Either one or two lanes will be open during the night.
