Fundamentalists in Egypt Clash; 13 Hurt
Muslim hard-liners attacked other fundamentalists with stones and knives in this southern Egyptian town Saturday, wounding 13 people, security officials said.
Three police officers were among those wounded in the clash over plans for prayer meetings today for the Muslim Eid al Adha, or feast of sacrifice, the officials said.
Police detained more than 30 alleged members of the outlawed Jihad (Holy War) organization for attacking supporters of the rival Muslim Brotherhood in two separate incidents, the officials said.
