British Princess Anne’s Mother-in-Law Dies

LONDON —
The mother-in-law of Britain’s Princess Anne died today while being treated for a pancreas condition, Buckingham Palace said.
A spokesman said Anne Phillips, 62, whose son, Capt. Mark Phillips is married to the princess royal, had been unconscious for more than a month and was on life-support machines when she died at Southmead Hospital in the western city of Bristol.
