Despite a previous announcement that NBC planned to substitute remade episodes of the 1977-79 series “The Hardy Boys” for the fall season’s new “Magical World of Disney” series due to writers strike-related production delays, the network now says that “Magical World” is back on the schedule for Sundays at 7 p.m.--and the “Hardy Boys” will turn up in another time slot.

In the original plan, “The Hardy Boys,” the first TV series to be resurrected under NBC entertainment president Brandon Tartikoff’s plan to recast and reshoot old TV material to plug the holes in the fall schedule left by the strike, was to be aired at 7 p.m. Sundays, replaced once a month with a movie from the Disney archives.

On Friday, Tartikoff announced that NBC and Disney have managed to come up with enough “quality specials, theatrical films and the best in Disney animation” from Disney’s shelves to program the series through December. He hopes to have original material for the show in January.

The network plans to announce a new 8 p.m. time slot for “The Hardy Boys” early next week.

Said Tartikoff in a prepared statement: “This schedule takes care of us in the fall, and we hope that if the strike is resolved, beginning in January, we would be able to evolve ‘The Magical World of Disney’ into the wheel of rotating series including ‘Davy Crockett,’ ‘The Absent-Minded Professor’ and ‘The Parent Trap.’ ”
