Norwegian Nurse Slain in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan —
A Norwegian nurse has been killed in Afghanistan in a clash between guerrillas and government forces, the Afghan news agency Bakhtar reported.
The official agency said the woman, who was not named, was killed on Thursday in Laghman province northeast of Kabul. It gave no details of the clash.
Bakhtar said the nurse entered Afghanistan illegally and was giving medical assistance to Afghan guerrillas belonging to Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s Hizb-i-Islami group.
