Beverly Hills police said Saturday they have arrested a man they call the “Ponytail Bandit,” suspected of holding up several Westside banks since mid-June.

Gregory Weiss, 33, and his wife Marina, 27, both of Los Angeles, were booked on suspicion of armed robbery Friday afternoon, Lt. Frank Sarver said. His bail was $50,000; hers was $25,000.

Sarver said Marina Weiss drove the getaway car for her husband, who robbed 11 banks in Beverly Hills, West Los Angeles and Santa Monica and attempted to rob another. They were thought to have taken more than $22,000.
