A 30-year-old Long Beach resident was arrested early Monday after he and another man allegedly held up a convenience store with a knife and one tried to escape in a stolen truck, police said.

Carlos Candross Rosas was arrested on suspicion of armed robbery and possession of stolen property, Cypress Police Sgt. Ray Peterson said. Rosas was being held Monday night in the city jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Peterson said the robbery occurred at about 3:10 a.m. Monday, when two men entered the AM/PM Mini Market in the 5000 block of Lincoln Avenue. He said one of the robbers pulled a knife and the other demanded money from the store clerk. The two men fled the store, and the clerk telephoned police.

An officer responding to the call saw a red truck leaving the area, pulled it over and arrested Rosas, who he said was driving the vehicle. Neither the money nor a second suspect has been found, Peterson said.
