Loews Theatre Management Corp. has acquired 48 screens in 13 suburban Washington locations from Roth Enterprises Inc. for an undisclosed amount. New York-based Loews, a unit of Columbia Pictures Entertainment Inc., said the deal will give it “another important presence on the Eastern seaboard and complements the March acquisition of USA Cinemas Inc.” Roth will continue to operate some theaters in metropolitan Washington as well as a number in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and North and South Carolina.
