Wetlands

When going down one evening to Gum Grove Park, whose area borders the wetlands that the intended Mola Development is going to consume if passed by the Coastal Commission and other agencies, I spoke with some of the younger people.

I have had little contact with the younger generation and was interested in hearing what they might have to say regarding the shape the park was in and also what their reaction might be to the planned condos going in on the wetlands.

Since I don’t have any children to work for in trying to preserve what is left of Seal Beach, it made me feel good to realize that some of the young people do care and hopefully can benefit if the effort to preserve the wetlands and enlarge the park is successful.

I have been in touch with concerned citizens of other cities that have been successful in stopping the runaway development. One group in Huntington Beach stopped developments on the wetlands. It can be done, if we band together.
