CBS anchor Dan Rather, whose combative live interview with Vice President George Bush on Jan. 25 made headlines more for the interview’s tone than its content, will interview Bush again today. This time, though, the Rather-Bush encounter will be taped in Washington for broadcast Saturday--bumping “West 57th”--as part of CBS’ coverage before next week’s GOP convention in New Orleans. Bush’s wife, Barbara, also will be interviewed. Bush, who is to be named the GOP presidential nominee at the party’s convention, has been interviewed twice by Rather, each time quietly, since their January dust-up.
