Hollywood : Gay Center Names Director

Torie Osborn has been appointed executive director of the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Community Services Center, becoming the first woman to head the 17-year-old social services agency.

The center, 1213 N. Highland Ave., is the largest of its kind in the nation, serving 200,000 clients a year, center spokeswoman Carole Derrick said.

Osborn joined the center as finance director last year, and since April has served as deputy director.
