After their public shoving match Sunday at an “issues forum” formatted like his show, shock TV talk-show host Morton Downey Jr. and Connecticut newspaper editor Paul Bass tried to talk and make up on yet another talk show Monday--this one hosted by Sally Jessy Raphael. But Bass said later he would not drop criminal assault charges against Downey, though both did agree to drop civil proceedings against each other. Eventually, Bass, his sister, Sharon, and Downey all started shouting at each other again, despite the best efforts of Raphael to placate everyone concerned.
