Even though the victim’s body has not been found, a 17-year-old boy has been arrested in Gettysburg, Pa., for investigation of killing a young woman who disappeared from Tuolumne County a month ago, authorities reported. The teen-ager, whose name was not released because of his age, waived extradition to California to face a charge of killing Yvette Stagno, 19, of Jamestown, said Tuolumne County Dist. Atty. Eric DuTemple. “The investigation here and the subsequent investigation there (in Pennsylvania), combined with some statements he made, led us to strongly believe he is responsible for her death,” DuTemple said. He added that no decision has been made whether to seek prosecution of the youth as an adult or in Juvenile Court. Stagno was last seen July 17 at the home of her parents. Her bloodstained car was found abandoned two weeks later at Sonora Community Hospital, and sheriff’s deputies said the blood type matched Stagno’s.
