Local News in Brief : Boyfriend of Slain Girl, 16, Arrested
The teen-age boyfriend of Sandra Maldonado, 16, who was killed Saturday in a gang shoot-out at 3rd and Catalina streets in Los Angeles, was arrested Wednesday, police said. The youth’s identity was withheld because of his age.
Maldonado was shot in the head while riding in the back of a pickup truck with her boyfriend, police said. Although he did not shoot her, the boyfriend was taken into custody because Maldonado was killed as a result of his involvement in a shoot-out with members of a rival gang, police said.
