Trainer Mack Miller announced the retirement to stud of the multiple stakes-winner Java Gold at Saratoga Springs, N.Y. As a 3-year-old last year, Java Gold won three consecutive Grade I races--the Whitney, Travers and Marlboro--but was denied horse-of-the-year when he finished second to Creme Fraiche in the Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park.
