Blushing Bug Wins at Los Alamitos
Blushing Bug combined with jockey John Creager to post a 1/2-length victory in the featured quarter horse race at Los Alamitos Thursday night.
In the field of seven older allowance runners, Blushing Bug broke cleanly from his No. 3 post and accelerated inside the final one-eighth of a mile to win.
Diamond Jet Flight finished in a dead-heat for second place with 6-5 favorite Freedom Flyer in the 350-yard dash timed in 17.73.
Creager, picking up his ninth victory this week, has taken the lead in the jockey standings, visiting the winner’s circle 11 times during the first eight nights.
Bruce Jackson trained Blushing Bug, winner of last year’s Carlsbad Handicap who had lifetime earnings of $84,184 before Thursday’s victory.
