San Diego
A 29-year-old man is being held in County Jail downtown after he allegedly returned to the scene of a fatal beating of a Southeast San Diego man, police said.
Alvin Hayes, address not given, was arrested after officers recognized him from a description a witness gave of the man who beat to death Robert Lee Knight of the 3100 block of Imperial Avenue, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
Police found Knight, 37, with severe trauma to his face and head after an altercation in which he was apparently repeatedly struck with a board, Robinson said.
Hayes is being held without bail.
