Booker Returns to Aztec Practice

Share

Tommy Booker, San Diego State sophomore tailback, returned to practice Friday and is expected to be ready for the season opener Sept. 3 against UCLA in the Rose Bowl, trainer Don Kaverman said.

But Booker, who sprained his left shoulder in practice Tuesday, will be held out an intrasquad scrimmage this morning, Kaverman said. Among those also expected to miss the scrimmage is defensive end Mitch Burton (sprained ankle).

The scrimmage, which is closed to the public, will conclude the Aztecs’ preseason camp. The team will not practice Sunday and will begin regular afternoon workouts Monday in conjunction with the start of fall classes.
