Schwartz Wins Scratch Main at Speedway

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event Friday in front of 3,477 in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Steve Lucero of Riverside was second, Brad Oxley of San Clemente third and Alan Christian of Murietta fourth.

Steve Russell of Anaheim won the eight-lap handicap main event. Tuff McBride of Grand Terrace was second, Billy Hamil of Monrovia was third and Gary Hicks of Glen Avon fourth.

In the feature match race, Mike of Colton defeated Lucero.

Brian King of Apple Valley won the second division main.
