Three undocumented aliens pleaded innocent Monday to charges that they raped a young woman last week in Balboa Park.

Bail was set at $100,000 for all three men by San Diego Municipal Judge Nicholas Kasimatis at the request of Deputy Dist. Atty. Wes Schermann.

The three men who entered pleas were Gabriel Gutierrez, 22; Jose de Jesus Hernandez Leyva, 24, and Michael DeLeon, 19.

Three other suspects arrested are juveniles, and their names have not been released. A seventh person, who was arrested Friday, Manuel Ponce Rendeia, 21, may be arraigned later this week.

They are all suspected of rape, committing a rape in concert and of forcible oral copulation.

The 22-year-old victim said she was attacked at knifepoint at 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 22 and dragged into some bushes.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Sept. 13.

The men, who had the hearing translated by a Spanish-speaking interpreter, waived their right to a bail review this week.

Their attorney, Stan Jones, said the three are in this country without proper documents.
