CHICAGO — A motorist who plunged 50 feet from an overpass to an expressway in an upside-down station wagon walked away from the accident.
“I swerved to avoid an accident, and the next thing I know I’m going over the guardrail,” said Ronald V. Zielin, 17, of Chicago. “I just started screaming and screaming.”
State police said that Zielin was driving a station wagon that was struck by an oncoming car, then plunged from the overpass onto the hood of another car Sunday.
Zielin, the two occupants of the car that struck his and three occupants of the car hit by his falling station wagon were all hospitalized in fair condition.
