Bobby Rahal to Join Local Racing Team
Bobby Rahal of Dublin, Ohio, winner of the last two Indy-car season titles, has agreed in principle to a contract with the Compton-based Kraco Indy-car racing team for the 1989 season.
The agreement would end Rahal’s association with Truesports Racing of Hilliard, Ohio.
Rahal will replace Michael Andretti, who has driven for the Kraco team for 5 1/2 years and who has finished second to Rahal in the points standings the past two seasons.
Rahal said he would not deny his guaranteed income with Kraco will more than double, to slightly more than $1 million.
