A Long Beach man is being held by Chula Vista police in connection with the death Tuesday of a woman in a local motel.
A police spokeswoman said James Louis Williams, 36, an electronics mechanic, was booked on suspicion of homicide after police found a woman unconscious in his room at the Comfort Inn.
The motel manager had called police to report a disturbance at the hotel, the spokeswoman said. When police talked Williams into opening the door, they found the unidentified victim lying on a bed.
The woman was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, the spokeswoman said. The cause of death has not been determined.
Williams is being held without bail.
