Hard Rock Cafe Ceiling Falls In
A large section of ceiling collapsed today at the landmark Hard Rock Cafe in West Hollywood, sending customers fleeing and temporarily trapping a bartender, but no injuries were reported, witnesses and fire officials said.
The collapse occurred just before noon and forced an evacuation of the restaurant next to Beverly Center, a manager said. The cafe is expected to be closed for the day while officials investigate the damage. Bill Constable, manager of the nearby California Pizza Kitchen, said customers reported that the collapse involved about a 20-foot chunk of ceiling above the bar. The ceiling was decorated with a hanging glass display case containing guitars, records and other recording-industry memorabilia.
