Nu Folkies

Thanks for the recent article on Nu Folk (“Nu Folk--Not So Loud and Not So Mellow,” by Steve Hochman, Aug. 28).

Up here in Davis, Calif., there is a blossoming Nu Folk scene with acoustic-oriented acts including Wonderful Broken Thing, The New Village Vanguard and Just Another Girl.

There are now at least three weekly acoustic open-mike nights in Davis and the local university radio station, KDVS, showcases Nu Folk both live and recorded.
