Cowboys Play Cardinals in Historic Game
The Phoenix Cardinals play their first-ever regular-season home game tonight against the Dallas Cowboys. The game will be televised live at 5 p.m. by Channel 7, but delayed at 6 p.m. by San Diego’s Channel 10.
“I would rather not be playing this game with it being their first game in Phoenix and on a Monday night and all,” Cowboy Coach Tom Landry said. “I’m sure their incentive will be tremendous.”
The Cardinals finished 7-8 last year and missed the playoffs after losing, 21-16, at Dallas in the regular-season finale.
Last week, the Cardinals lost their season opener, 21-14, at Cincinnati. Dallas also lost its opener, 24-21, at Pittsburgh.
A sellout crowd is expected at 72,168-seat Sun Devil Stadium as temperatures near 105 degrees.
