Local News in Brief : Fountain Valley : Woman Struck by Auto Dies of Head Injuries
A Westminster woman died Monday at a Fountain Valley hospital of head injuries suffered when she was struck by a car on Golden West Street late Saturday night.
The woman, Barbara Olis, 47, was crossing Golden West at 11:30 p.m. when a 17-year-old driver ran a red light at the intersection of Golden West and Trask Avenue and struck her, according to Officer Tom Broderson of the Westminster Police Department.
Broderson said the driver remained at the scene while Olis was rushed to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center.
Olis was kept alive by life-support systems through Monday morning, according to Broderson. Doctors pronounced her dead at 12:45 p.m. Monday.
The driver has not been arrested , Broderson said, but police are still investigating.
