Initiative to Place Jails in Santa Ana
Residents of Anaheim Hills, Villa Park and Anaheim have turned in signatures to get the issue on the ballot in 1990. They want all jails to be in Santa Ana. Where in Santa Ana?
There is no available land in Santa Ana for a jail. Evidently, it doesn’t bother those people that residents’ homes in Santa Ana would have to be destroyed to build a jail in Santa Ana. One of the persons involved in this petition was a strong advocate for prisons to be built in the desert. Now he is proposing jails be built in residential Santa Ana.
After years of delay, the supervisors have finally gotten their act together and voted on an isolated location for the jail and these egotists (residents of northeast Orange County) are putting stumbling blocks in the way.
