Prince opened his Lovesexy tour in his hometown of Minneapolis last week but the police shut down the post-performance party a little early. First Prince awed the 13,000 fans at Met Center with a show that featured the star driving onstage in a white Thunderbird and a set rigged with a swing set, a basketball hoop, bed and wind machines. Then he and his friends, including Miles Davis, Chaka Khan and Taylor Dane, adjourned to his Paisley Park studio in the suburb of Chanhassen to celebrate but things got loud and the neighbors complained. The police broke up the party about 4 a.m. Thursday and cited Prince’s production company for disturbing the peace.
