A sweep along Harbor Boulevard aimed at prostitutes and their customers led to 45 arrests late Saturday and early Sunday, police said.

Using three undercover women officers as decoys at the corner of Harbor and Quatro Avenue, Garden Grove police arrested 43 men on suspicion of soliciting and one woman on suspicion of prostitution, Lt. Ken Adair said.

Another man was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and drunk driving after police said he drove his car onto a sidewalk and almost rammed a decoy police officer, Adair said.

Police conducted the operation from 9 p.m. Saturday through 4 a.m. Sunday, Adair said. The street corner is often frequented by prostitutes, and neighbors have complained to police about the traffic.

Police also seized 24 vehicles driven by those arrested, Adair said, but the cars will be returned.
