San Diego
An electrical contractor arrested Monday by San Diego police is suspected of illegally wiring electric meters for businesses over the last six years, San Diego Gas & Electric investigator Daryl Murry said.
“We suspect that illegal wiring by the contractor and his employees over the past six years involved approximately $120,000 in energy thefts,” Murry said.
Police arrested Amos Todd, 41, of East San Diego, at 9 a.m. Monday.
Murry said the business records of Community Electric, Todd’s firm, were seized and that SDG&E; will pursue felony charges with penalties of up to three years in jail.
