Ohio State tailback Vince Workman signed with a sports agent and is likely to be ineligible for the rest of his senior season, a Columbus, Ohio, television station reported Tuesday night.
Workman signed with San Franscisco-based agent David Lueddekke sometime after his sophomore year at Ohio State, WBNS-TV said, citing unidentified sources close to a grand jury investigation of dealings by sports agents.
Workman, the Buckeyes’ starting tailback, declined to comment on the report after he returned to Columbus from Chicago, where he testified before a federal grand jury investigating Lueddekke and agents Norby Walters and Lloyd Bloom.
Ohio State athletic department officials declined comment until after a meeting today.
