Three-year prison terms were handed down Tuesday to two members of a white supremacy group who admitted assaulting a Latino man and his female companion outside a Hillcrest restaurant.

Superior Court Judge Herbert Exarhos noted the seriousness of the Oct. 17 beating, which broke the man’s jaw, in denying the request for probation from defendants Charles Leek, 20, and Frank Tokash, 18, both of San Diego.

Each had pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon in the unprovoked attack on Humberto Huerta, 21, and Lisa Fegarsky, 18, but both denied it was racially motivated.

“I’m not satisfied (racial motivation) did not exist,” Exarhos said. “I believe there was planning and criminal sophistication in these incidents.”

The defendants are members of a group known as the “Bomber Boys,” derived from the flight jackets many of them wear.
