A Terrible Clubbing

Share

Thank you for shedding light on the masochistic phenomenon known as “clubbing” for dinner--a practice peculiar to L.A., London and New York.

It’s clear from “The Trendiest Suppers of Them All” (by Jonathan Gold) and “The Ins and Outs of the Door” (by Laurie Ochoa, Sept. 25) that in the modern world you’ve got to prove yourself by choosing to dine/dance at supper clubs that enforce standards of class.

Golly, I thought that a good job, a well-rounded education and enjoying the arts were what made one a cultured being. What a fool!

I could have saved oodles of time, money and energy by just buying some Euro/punk/yuppie clothes, growing a pseudo ponytail (no mousse, please, that was last year) and dropping names like Mickey Rourke, Chinois on Main and Stock Exchange.
