Community Psychiatric Centers posted net income of $17.3 million for the fiscal third quarter ended Aug. 31, a 12% increase from the $15.5 million reported for the comparable period last year. Revenues rose 16% to $87.3 million from $75.4 million a year ago. For the nine-month period, earnings increased 15% to $53.9 million from $46.7 million. Revenues totaled $262.1 million, 18% higher than the $221.4 million posted for the first nine months last year. Community Psychiatric, based in Laguna Hills, owns and operates a chain of acute psychiatric hospitals. It also provides alcoholic treatment services, operates a chain of kidney dialysis centers, and owns a home health-care services business.
